Dining at Keyaki is like dining in a Japanese garden. Here, diners cane experience a relaxed dining experience either outdoor or indoor.
The restaurant is one of the better Japanese restaurant in the Marina Bay area, with many Japanese enjoying the food here within the compounds of the restaurant.
We were there on a holiday and they served a special set dinner for all diners, on top of the usual ala-carte menu.
A peek inside the restaurant.
The S$88 Special Dinner Set started off with a cup of warm hot tea.
We were served this chilled appetizer from the chef to whet our appetite.
The first appetizer was the Snow Crab & Scallop cocktail. The snow crab has been deshelled and peeled for us. The flesh is sweet. Scallop was good too.
This was followed by fresh Assorted Sashimi - Salmon, Yellow Tail and Tuna
and also assorted Sushi - Tuna, Sea Bream and Eel. The Eel was the best of all, due to the grilled charcoal flavours.
Dobinmushi, served in a tea cup.
The soup was light and warm and there were pieces of steam chicken.
We were also served Teppanyaki - Prawn, Salmon and Scallop. The prawns have been deshelled too for our convenience, and all the seafood tasted sweet and fresh. The prawns were especially crunchy.
To complete our meal, we were also served Potato Salad, Miso Soup and Pickles.
My choice of rice was their version of Fried Rice with lot's of garlic bits.
The only thing I did not enjoy as much was probably this Turkey and USA Angus Beef Strip Loin with Sauteed Vegetables. The beef was too tough for my liking. If only the chef did not cook the beef till overly done.
Dessert for our set meal was the Tofu Cheese Cake with Strawberry. The dessert was creamy and not overly sweet, and a good ending to our specia set dinner here at Keyaki.
