Comfort food comes in many forms. But for most people, comfort food comes in the form of pipping hot soup or broth.
Space @ My Humble House, situated at Esplanade, is the smaller sister of My Humble House with reknowned chef Sam Leong as the head chef under the Tung Lok group. Space @ My Humble House offers only less than 10 varieties of main courses, and most of them are a meal by itself.
The centrepiece of the restaurant is this table with a small water feature in the middle. Junpei Yamagiwa from Tokyo is the designer behind the design of this place.
Saw the waitress changing the green apples inside the boat. Wonder what they do with all these green apples?
My same order everytime I come here - Claypot Jasmine Rice with Crabmeat and Shrimp in Consomme. This is one of the top "porridge" in Singapore. It's not the Hong Kong congee style, but a Teochew kind of porridge. According to the waitress, the rice grains are first steamed with the seafood stock. After the rice is steamed and cooked, it is added into this consomme with crabmeat and shrimp.
Seaweeds are also added. The end result is a very filling and satisfying meal during a rainy day. It is large enough for a big eater. Small eaters should share this dish together.
Free ice water served here. Next time if you are around the area, do drop by Space @ My Humble House and try this unique dish!
