Riders Cafe @ Bukit Timah Saddle Club

One of the most unusual thing I like about Riders Cafe, is the journey there. Staying in the east, it is quite a distance to travel there.

But as one pass the winding roads towards Riders Cafe, you will feel that you have arrived in another country. The grassland besides the road relaxes your mind and sometimes, you get to see horses doing their routine trainings along the grasslands.

Even though there are 40 to 50 car park lots, there are mostly full as lot's of people come here to eat! Do allocate ample time for the forever congested Bukit Timah road, and to find a parking lot.

There is no air con in the cafe, so it may get a bit warm in the afternoon. Would recommend coming here around 10am before the afternoon sun comes out in full force.

The ice water is served in a very classic jug. Ordered a glass of creamy strawberry milkshake to counter the warm weather.

Egg Benedicts - Soft creamy eggs sitting on hald a muffin and slices of smoked salmon, topped with fresh buttered asparagus. This is their trade mark breakfast set, and comes with a serving of potatoes and fresh fruit + berries salad.

The smoked salmon goes very well with the eggs and muffins. Just the right amount of saltiness and creaminess. Highly recommended.

Pancakes - Large fluffy pancakes with strawberry jam, whipped cream, maple syrup and butter. Who can resists hot fluffy pancakes in the morning? Very satisfying to tuck in to these morning pancakes.

Crabmeat pasta - Pasta tasted average. Topped with chunks of crab meat and pan fried tomatoes. What is unique is that freshly toasted pine nuts were sprinkled on the pasta.

Forgot what the soup was. I believe was beetroot soup?

Grilled fish main course. A creamy sauce was drizzled across the pan fried fish, and fresh leafy vegetables accompanied the dish.

Walking towards the carpark, one can see horses inside the stables. A very unique view in Singapore.

An important note is that reservations is A MUST! And reservations for weekends (Sat and Sun) must be made like 3 to 4 workings days before! If you come here on a weekend without reservations, you will be rejected right away. This place is really very popular with expats and Singaporeans.
