G7 is a chain of frog porridge and seafood stalls which started in Geylang, and now it has branched out into full range of seafood specialties in a restaurant setting.
What is famous here in G7 seafood is the gigantic fish known as 龙趸 known as Giant Garoupa.
The huge seafood tank where you can pick and choose the crab and seafood you desire.
One interesting seafood is the prawns with "blue" antennas.
House brewed liang teh. Note that a glass of free flow ice water costs S$0.50.
Interior view of the restaurant. Quite presentable, and understand that most of the crowd comes after 12 midnight. Pretty quiet during dinner time at 7pm to 10pm.
Appetizer is crispy fish skin. Now a common dish in most seafood restaurant, the skin is deep fried till crispy, and sprinkled with crispy garlic bits.
Barbequed pork chop. The savoury sauce was good, and meat was tender.
Baked "large head" prawns - It's like a mini lobster. Prawn meat is fresh and sweet.
Appetizer trio. I believe this is thai sauce sotong meat.
Foie Gras - Quite rare that a Chinese seafood restaurant serves Foie Gras. But the quality is not as good as that from authentic French restaurants.
Crispy prawn with Wasabi mayo on a watermelon cube. Refreshing!
Black hokkien mee - One of the best. Filled wit genereous prawns, cuttlefish, fish slices and lot's of sinful crispy pork lard cubes. Noodles were QQ, and the black sauce has the "prawn broth" taste to it.
