Kopi Tiam @ Swissotel The Stamford

Kopi Tiam at Swissotel has been one of the best restaurant in town when you feel like having Asian fares in a nice air-conditioned environment at the heart of the city.

I remembered Kopi Tiam has served their famous curry fish head to many foreign VIPs who stayed at Swissotel (and the former Westin Stamford) over the years.

So this is the famous Curry Fish Head (S$49.50) which has wowed many diners over the years. Indeed, the curry gravy is pretty good. Not too much coconut yet it has this distinctive sweet sour savoury taste. Fish meat was fresh. Lot's of vegetables inside the boiling curry. It is a meal on its own. One pot is more than enough to be shared among 4 diners.

Nothing compliments the Curry Fish Head other than White rice (S$1)

We had Coconut Juice (S$8) to cool off from the spicy curry. Crackers were also served together with the curry.

The Shrimp Paste Chicken (S$15.50) was a disappointment. The shrimp paste was not fragrant enough. Chicken skin was not as crisp as we hoped.

The Prawn Fritters (S$18.50) on the other hand was acceptable. Much better than the Har Cheong Gai.
